GM Drew Becker steps up to the mic.
"First off we're proud to be President's Trophy Winners, and you know we definitely celebrated a lot last night. And I know a lot of you are wondering about the status of Evgeni Malkin. He does have a broken foot and he's expected to miss about a month of action."
TSN Reporter: How does the injury to Malkin change things for your teams line combinations?
Well we certainly had to juggle things a bit. Lehtinen has replaced him on the top line with the Sedins. And along the right side everyone else was bumped up as well.
Same TSN reporter: How does this sit with the Sedins? Will this affect their gameplay at all considering they played with Malkin all year long?
Not really. It doesn't matter who you put with them they'll tear it up and would be completely fine with it. Heck, I could put Georges Laraque with them and they would still get 100 points. No offence there George.
Sportsnet: What is your team's gameplan against Sid the Kid?
Well Sid's definitely an extraordinary player especially with another great like Naslund playing with him. We're planning on having either the Mccabe and Pronger pairing or Warrener and Mckee pairing play against him at all times. Both pairings have been great at shutting teams down for us and I think Sidney's going to be seeing a lot of Mr. Pronger.
the Score: How do you think Fleury will handle the pressure of his first playoff series?
It's hard to say, if he keeps focused on his game and plays like he has all season long then we'll have no worries. Remember Kari Lehtonen is in the same situation as well
ESPN: If you were the General Manager of the Thrashers what kind of gameplan would you formulate against your Penguins?
Well I don't want to answer that in full detail and give my fellow general manager any tips (chuckles) but I think personally that my team is strong all-around and its going to be tough for teams to develop an effective strategy against us because we can do everything that they can do.
Anyways folks thats all the time I have today, I have a series to go win now!
