STARS HAVE A COACHFormer Flyers and Panthers head coach Terry Murray has been chosen to take over as head coach of the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars. Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong made the announcement earlier Friday. Murray takes over for GM Armstrong, who led the Stars to a 7-6-0 record since assuming the coaching responsibilities last month. The stars fired Dave Tippett earlier in the year after the stars went 0-3-0. "Terry has earned this opportunity because he is one of the best coaches in hockey and the best one right now to give our team a shot at the playoffs," says Armstrong. Terry will ensure continuity with the systems we have been working on over the past few months while this move allows me to re-focus on my responsibilities as general manager at this critical time of year". Murray is looking forward to the chance to lead the team. "I appreciate this great opportunity and I'm confident about our team's abilities," Murray added.
