The End of Season/Offseason Plan:
Roster freeze/trade deadline is 3 weeks prior to playoffs.
Trading Door Re-opens after last playoff game is simmed.
Trading will be allowed for 4 days after playoffs to have teams try to get better players to protect and also to get better draft positioning.
Teams will have 1 week to submit their re-signed (protected) players.
The Draft for the next season will occur sometime within the week.
Simming of games will occur roughly one week after that to allow team to make trades during that week.
Players to be entered into the draft pool:
Maximum number of players on Active Roster: 23
Maximum Number of Re-signings: 12
Total Number of Active Players (74 Rating or Higher) to be placed into draft: 11
* Since the cutoff for players to be moved to minors without having to clear waivers is 74 rating, all players including goalies that are entered into the draft pool is 74 rating or higher. This will make sure that the draft means a great deal for next season. If you do not have enough players (after you protect your 12), once you run out of 74 or higher, you will literally take players from 73, 72, 71 until you have enough put into the draft pool. This should not happen, I am just protecting my butt.
*10 players + 1 Goalie (minimum) >>>> all rated 74 or higher.
Therefore the draft will consist of 11 rounds. Leftover players (if any) will go into a UFA auction waiver process.
IF you do not have 11 players over 74 rating AFTER your resignings then disregard that rule
NOTE regarding prospects:
The new prospects that your real NHL club signs will become the property of your team.
